Being mindful of our committment to #collabetition, we want you to know that we think the vBulletin software is very good. It has come a long way in over 10 years and can be very powerful in the hands of a talented software developer.

The reality is that vBulletin is difficult for most users to navigate when it comes to the admin capabilities and the overloaded AdminCP.

Now some may argue that a truly powerful platform is always going to involve some level of complexity and learning curve. It would be hard to imagine flying a 747 with only a 1-button Atari joystick...

With vBulletin, some of the most basic and common tasks for a new forum admin are just too complex for users who don't have a good background in software, some knowledge of FTP, and familiarity with basic code edits. Easy stuff for programmers and the pros of the forum world, but it's the stuff that headaches and "giving up" are made of for users who just want to communicate, have fun, and interact within their own community without reading every book O'Reilly has published on programming topics. #kidding :P

Here are two basic examples of vBulletin tasks that are way more complex than they should be. I'll attach our intro video so that you can see how we handle those tasks (in seconds) by comparison.

1. Changing your logo (4 minutes, 12 second video)
2. Changing your background image (1 minute, 51 second video)
